McCain's Message to My Children

I live in rural Wisconsin and have been active in politics here ever since I was cognitively able to do so.  I put up my signs, I make my phone calls, I do my canvassing.  But even more important than that--I talk to my kids.

"It's Hillary's Fault!" [Update x2]

On MSNBC this afternoon, Andrea Mitchell was interviewing someone (I missed her name) from the McCain campaign.

Essentially, the question was, "Why bring up Ayers when people are more concerned about the economy?"  The answer?  "We didn't bring up Ayers, Hillary did.

[Updated] McFailin Supporters "Terrorist!" "Kill Him!"

If you were watching MSNBC as I was this afternoon, you heard a McCain supporter scream "a terrorist!" when McCain asked the questions, "Who is Obama?"

WI-10: Get This Picture Off My Fridge!

This past May, my twin daughters took a school field trip to the Capitol Building in Madison.  This was a big deal for me.  Not only because this was a four hour trip and I'm an anal, over-protective mother, but also because I planned on being the person to introduce them to our state's capitol.  Although I was slated to be a chaperone, a severe case of bronchitis decided it was not to be.

McCain Campaign Sues to Purge Registered Voters in Wisconsin

I just got an e-mail today from my local Democratic Party.

It seems the McCain campaign is mailing out "misleading" absentee ballot applications to Democrats here in Wisconsin.  Several people in our group have already received them.

Upon reading my city's newspaper today, I was greeted with this gem:

To the editor:

Here in Wisconsin, the far-left group, MoveOn.org, is already running a TV election ad supporting Barack Obarna for president. In it, a man claiming to be a life-long Republican says he is going to vote for Obarna because he can bring Republicans and Democrats together.

I ask how? All you have to do is look at Obama's record. He has voted the far-left liberal partisan position every time. He has never worked with anyone across the aisle (Republicans). He has never sponsored any legislation with or without a Republican sponsor. This group, MoveOn.org, once sponsored an ad that created a firestorm, smearing an honored and respected general of the Army. Now they are trying to fool the American people again.

Only one candidate has a record of working with both parties for the betterment of the American people. He worked with a group of 14 Democrats and Republicans to preserve the time-honored filibuster in the U.S. Senate (Gang of 14).

He has sponsored legislation trying to bring the left and the right together (McCain-Kennedy and McCain-Feingold). He has voted for Supreme Court justices that were qualified (liberal Ruth Bader-Ginsburg), where Obama voted against Chief Justice John Roberts.

It's been a long election season, and it's only going to get longer. But we don't need distortions and lies. This TV ad is portraying Obama as something he is not.

John McCain is the real uniter. But you don't have to believe me. Their records in Congress speak for themselves.

McCain "Slams" Obama on Iran

Earlier this week while speaking before AIPAC, John McCain slammed Obama on his Iran policy.

[W]e hear talk of a meeting with the Iranian leadership offered up as if it were some sudden inspiration, a bold new idea that somehow nobody has ever thought of before [creepy smile, uncomfortable giggle].
