Well, while we are waiting for the next poll to send Esconded into conniptions (wink!) or the Palin gaffe of the afternoon (she is good for at least two a day), how about a little something to break the tension?
(Tension, what tension? I'm as calm as a cat being chased over a sea of ball bearings by a crazed rottweiler!)
This guy is lucky he just winged them, otherwise he would be looking at life in prison:

I wrote a diary about the last weeks of the McCain campaign, and would he choose to go the Bob Dole route, who when it was clear he would probably lose, cut out the smears and decided to end his campaign on a positive pro-America note.
When I wrote that diary, I was still hedging my bet that McCain, who I believed was at one time an honorable man, a flawed man, but still a man of basically good patriotic beliefs, would want to go out with some class; perhaps end on a less sour note and call off the dogs his campaign and in particular Sarah Palin have unleashed.
It's accepted history that Bob Dole knew he was going to lose to the Big Dog, and that he decided to lose with dignity, and shut down the smears in the final days of his campaign.
I am aware that spiking the ball on the 5-yard line is a no-no, but just for discussion sakes, let's say the handwriting is on the Blackberry and the McCain campaign knows he is heading for the dustbin of history, not the Oval office?
Does he go Bob Dole? My take is, it all depends on if McCain has enough cogent thought processes left to realize the party is more then willing to make him `the sacrificial lamb' in the post election story. He has no future in the party; his pariah status is virtually assured.
Well, I guess the Maverick Reformer is just another corrupt politician after all?
How will they explain it to her? Tell her, she's a big girl now; she is old enough to understand politics is a "winner take all" game, and this is just how the game is played?
I know, I know. You guys and gals (see, I'm folksy too!) have every reason to be a little peeved at me. I'm really sorry, that whole Bush as President thing IS kind of my fault and all, I was kind of busy out here in the Abell 2218 galaxy, but you really should check this out.
What a piece of work our buddy Sean is. Besides trying to top Rudy's record for repeating one phrase ad nauseum (Ayers- Obama-Terrorist instead of a noun and verb and 9/11) Sean should really be careful whom he accuses of guilt by association?
